Anniversary of Kanggye Youth Power Station

 Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- The Kanggye Youth Power Station in the DPRK is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
The power station, founded on April 29, Juche 53 (1964) under the care of the peerlessly great men, has developed into a large-scale electricity producer of the country, greatly contributing to the development of the self-supporting economy and the improvement of people's living standards.
President Kim Il Sung initiated the construction of the power station and personally went to the field to proclaim the inauguration of the power station. And he saw to it that the power station took the lead in generating electricity.
When Chairman Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the power station, he said that it plays a big role in defending socialism and took measures to put the production on a normal footing while lavishing great care on it.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the orientation and ways for increasing the power production through proper management of structures at the power station.
Over the past 60 years, the workers, technicians and officials of the power station have striven to boost the electricity production out of the mind to glorify the leadership exploits of the Workers' Party of Korea. They ensured the full operation of generating equipment, established an integrated power control system by pooling their creative wisdom and efforts and introduced valuable technical innovations.
In the course, the power station won a citation of the President, letters of congratulations and thanks from the WPK Central Committee and Order of Kim Il Sung and generator No.2 of its power station No.3 received the title of Labor Hero. -0-
