Dow Signs Research Contract with KAUST

Jeddah, June 24, 2009 -- Professor Chong Fong Shih, president of
King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), recently
signed a multimillion-dollar contract with the Dow Chemical Co., a
world leader in science and technology.

Dow plans to take part in the KAUST Research Park and Innovations
Cluster, exploring the development of topics such as CO2 capture,
enhanced oil recovery, water desalination, solar energy and wind
energy.

The company has also become a founding member of KAUST’s Industrial
Collaboration Program, which promotes economic development in Saudi
Arabia and encourages an enriched research experience.
