Dow Signs Research Contract with KAUST

The report published today by Saudi Aramco's web-site quoted the
Jeddah-based English newspaper "Arab News" as saying that one of
Dow’s main objectives is to deliver science-based solutions for
everyday needs.

Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO of Dow, said that this objective is
aligned with the university’s goals of encouraging economic
development through the advancement of technology.

Arab News quoted Fong Shih as saying, “It is the vision of King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to have KAUST act as a driver in transforming
Saudi Arabia into a knowledge economy by directly integrating
research produced at the university into (the Kingdom’s) economy. We
are pleased to have Dow, a 112-year-old world leader in the field of
science and technology, as a partner in realizing this great vision.”
