Architectural Festival Opens in DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- The 21st May 21 Architectural Festival opened with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex on May 7 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Architects Union of Korea.
The festival, held on the theme of "Comprehensive rejuvenation and development of our state and Juche-based architecture", is aimed at transferring and sharing technology and experience gained in architectural creation so as to vigorously lead a great golden age of construction and the development of the Korean-style socialist civilization.
Presented to the festival were more than 400 formation plans for architectural design highly appreciated at each provincial (municipal) architectural festival, scores of building equipment and tools and over 60 programs for modeling architectural information and object designs. The festival is being held, divided into exhibition of formation plans for architectural design, exhibition of building equipment and tools and exhibition for modeling architectural information
Attending the festival were Pak Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kang Kwon Il, general director of the State General Bureau of Design, officials, architects, designers, technologists, teachers and researchers in the fields of architectural design, construction, scientific research and education.
Sim Yong Hak, chairman of the Central Committee of the Architects Union of Korea, made an opening address. -0-
