Madi Hails Thriving Saudi-China Relationships

GUIYANG, China, June 28, SPA -- The current downturn in petroleum
demand will be a short-term phenomenon, due to global demographic
growth and rising living standards of people around the world,
according to Mohammed S. Madi, Chief of Saudi Petroleum Ltd. (SPL)
-Beijing, Saudi Aramco’s affiliate office in the Chinese capital.

He made these remarks at a recent gathering of refiners and oil
industry leaders in China. As many as 100 refiners and oil industry
leaders gathered from June 3-6 for the 2009 Sinopec Refineries
Communication Meeting.

Madi also underscored the close ties between China and Saudi Aramco,
saying the company’s “relationship with China and its petroleum
sector goes beyond a simple supply-demand equation, or a calculation
of the number of barrels to be placed. Instead, Saudi Aramco
continues to develop its ties with many different organizations and
institutions in order to combine strengths and to foster multifaceted
working relationships.”

The 2009 Sinopec Refineries Communication Meeting was organized in
beautiful Guizhou Province, between the green mountains and the rice
fields surrounding the city of Guiyang, according to a latest report
carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site.
