KSGAAL Concludes Challenges and Prospects of Teaching Arabic Language and Literature Conference in Republic of Korea

Seoul, May 10, 2024, SPA-- The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language (KSGAAL) concluded a two-day conference today on the challenges and prospects of teaching Arabic language and literature.
The conference was held in Seoul, Korea, the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the Korean Society for Arabic Language and Literature at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). Specialized linguistic academics, linguistic institutions, and heads of Korean linguistic societies and Arabic departments attended the conference.
Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washami, the Secretary-General of KSGAAL, expressed his appreciation for the support and guidance from HRH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. This support strengthens the Academy's strategy and goals in spreading the Arabic language worldwide.
The academy's efforts to promote the Arabic language in Korea include previously offering courses, issuing books, and conducting lectures. The conference's objectives were to introduce the academy and its activities, reach beneficiaries worldwide, open communication channels, benefit from various global experiences in teaching Arabic as a second language, and work towards unifying the scientific reference concerning the Arabic language and its sciences.
The Secretary-General highlighted that these efforts align with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and are linked to the Arab culture that emerged from the Kingdom's lands.
Dr. Jong-Wha Lee, the President of the Korean Society for Arabic Language and Literature, explained that Arabic has its foundations in the Republic of Korea, with the oldest dating back to 1965. The conference aimed to revitalize teaching Arabic language through cooperation with organizations in Arab countries, exchanges between specialists in the Arabic language, and discussions of various methods to ensure the achievement of competence in education.
KSGAAL's organization of the conference confirms its strategic role in all issues related to the Arabic language and reiterates its unwavering commitment.
The Academy extends bridges of cooperation with parties concerned with teaching Arabic to non-native speakers from abroad, strengthens its message in investing in opportunities to serve the Arabic language, preserves the integrity of the Arabic language and its linguistic identity, supports it in speech and writing, enhances its position globally, and facilitates its teaching and learning inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thereby instilling confidence in the audience about the Academy's dedication to the language.
