Bhutan PM to visit India
Thimphu, June 28 (PTI) Bhutan Prime Minister Jigmi Y
Thinley will embark on a four-day visit to India on June 30
during which he will hold discussions with his counterpart
Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Patil.
This will be Thinley's second visit to the country. He
was here last year after taking over charge as Bhutan's first
democratically-elected prime minister.
Besides talks with Patil and Singh, Thinley will also
meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) leader L K Advani.
After the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) formed the
government this year for the second term, Thinley had said he
was looking forward to visit New Delhi to congratulate the
Congress leaders.
Foreign Secretary Daw Penjo, Economic Affairs Secretary
Sonam Tshering and other senior government officials will be
accompanying Thinley. PTI
