Head of Founding Team of Global Water Organization: World is Keen on Unifying International Efforts to Find Comprehensive Solutions to Water Issues

Bali, May 21, 2024, SPA -- Head of the Founding Team of the Global Water Organization Dr. Fahd Abu-Mouti emphasized the crucial need to unify global efforts in addressing water-related issues, reaffirming the organization's dedication to facilitating this collaborative endeavor. He highlighted the global community's earnestness in pursuing concrete international actions to achieve holistic solutions in the water sector.
These remarks were made during meetings convened on the sidelines of the 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia, held from May 18 to 21, gathering heads of state and governments, ministers, and officials from 180 countries and 250 global organizations. Dr. Abu-Mouti underscored that the establishment of the Global Water Organization was driven by the imperative to attain comprehensive solutions in water management.
He elaborated that the organization's mission entails fostering cooperation among governments, non-governmental organizations, and private entities to bolster effective collaboration in water management, conservation, and sustainability. Dr. Abu-Mouti emphasized that these sideline meetings are part of a series of preparatory measures for deliberations on collaborative frameworks among member states for establishing the Global Water Organization, slated to be headquartered in Riyadh.
This organization, announced by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in September 2023, aims to amalgamate and enhance the efforts of nations and organizations in comprehensively addressing water challenges. It aims to achieve this through the exchange and augmentation of technical expertise, innovation, research and development, and by facilitating the establishment and financing of priority projects to ensure the sustainability of water resources and enhance universal access.
