USA affirms support for Hadramout Reconstruction Fund
HADRAMOUT, June 29 (Saba) - Ambassador of the United States of
America to Yemen Stephen Seche affirmed his country's support to the
Reconstruction Fund in Hadramout to reconstruct what heavy rain and
floods destroyed in the province last October.
During a meeting which gathered deputies of Hadhrmaout Omair Mubarak
and Awad Abdullah Hatim with the American ambassador, the deputies
briefed the ambassador with the economic and investment activities
witnessed in the province.
The achievements done in the infrastructure field, particularly in
roads and public services as well as investment opportunities in the
areas of oil, fisheries, agriculture,cement and others were also
explained for the ambassador.
The Hadramout officials also praised the American support for Yemen
in the development field.
Moreover, the meeting dealt with dangers of see piracy in Yemen's
regional waters and international waters as well as efforts to fight
piracy, in addition to the bad consequences of the process of Somali
refugees' displacement to Yemen.
For his part, the ambassador pointed out that a delegation from the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will
visit Hadramout province in the near future to get acquainted with
the province's needs in the services and social fields.
