FRENCH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AND EUROPEAN AFFAIRS ISSUES STATEMENT ON AZERBAIJANI AND ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS` MEETING IN PARIS
Baku, 30 June (AzerTAc). French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has released a statement concerning a meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers, which took place on June 26 in Paris.
The statement says France co-chairs the OSCE Minsk Group with the United States and Russia, and is continuing mediation efforts to help Armenia and Azerbaijan forge a just and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The document notes on the initiative of the mediating countries, foreign ministers Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan and Edward Nalbandian of Armenia met in Paris on June 26.
It goes on to say the two ministers first conferred with co-chairs in separate and then, continued the talks with the attendance of all three mediators to explore ways for the follow-up to the meeting held between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serge Sarkisian in the beginning of June in Seint-Petersburg.
The talks provided opportunities to move ahead with progress achieved in St. Petersburg and to find room for further progress. The co-chairs also made new proposals in this regard.
Teh co-chairs decided to visit again Baku, Yerevan and also Nagorno-Karabakh to prepare a meeting between the two presidents, which is possible to take place in mid-July in Moscow.
