More than 250 Media Professionals Cover International Chemistry Olympiad

Riyadh, July 28, 2024, SPA -- More than 250 media professionals from numerous local and international print, visual, and audio media outlets participated in covering the 56th edition of the International Chemistry Olympiad, hosted by the Kingdom for the first time. Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa, visited the media center to commend journalists for their extensive coverage of the event.
Over the past seven days in which the International Olympiad took place, leading news agencies, local and foreign newspapers, satellite channels, local radio stations, and electronic news websites in various languages covered the important event with great interest and momentum. Beyond the scientific competitions, participants enjoyed a cultural immersion with field trips to explore Saudi heritage and tourist attractions.
The Olympiad, which is the largest international competition for secondary school students in the field of chemistry, brought together 333 male and female students from 90 countries, supervised and guided by 260 specialists in the field of chemistry. The Olympiad activities run from July 22 to 30, organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and King Saud University, and exclusively sponsored by the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).
