14-year-old French girl survives Yemen jet crash

MORONI, July 01 (Saba) – The only survivor from the crash of the Yemeni jetliner
into the Indian Ocean early on Tuesday so far is said to be a 14-year-old French
girl.

Earlier reports said the survivor was a child.

The girl is now being hospitalized in a Moroni hospital.

Three bodies have been recovered and transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a trilateral rescue team from Yemen, France and the Comoros Archipelago
team is taking shape to probe the crash off Moroni, Capital of the Comoros Republic.


153 passengers including three infants and a crew of 11 were aboard the airplane.

Late on Tuesday, rescuers including French and from those African countries near to
the crash site could identify the crash site and search for bodies and survivors is
continuing amid persistent bad weather.

Further French and US rescuers are on way to the area.
