Saudi Delegation Chief speaks about Arab Water Strategy

Algiers, July 01, SPA -- The Director of Projects implementation
Department at the Ministry of Water, Electricity, Engineer Abdul Aziz
bin Abdul Rahman Al Jabr, who headed the Saudi delegation to Water
Experts meeting, said the Delegation presented an integrated view on
the subject of water, which has become a global problem.

"This problem requires special and exceptional treatment in view of
the negative effects and disastrous consequences of a decrease or
paucity of water," he said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency
at the end of the experts meeting here today.

This meeting followed the First meeting of the Council of Arab Water
Ministers that concluded recently in the Algerian capital.

Al-Jabr said both these meetings have emphasized the need to adopt
an Arab strategy to face the problem of water scarcity and achieve
self-sufficiency for this vital and strategic resource.
