Yemen, WB sign fishery agreements
SANA'A, June 01 (Saba) -Ministry of Fishery Wealth and World Bank
signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding to implement the
2nd phase of the 5th fishery project.
The agreement was signed by Mohammad Shamlan and Water, Environment
and Rural Development Officer at World Bank Office in Yemen Naji Abu
Hatem.
It aims to prepare the timetable and projects which to be carried
out during the project's 2nd phase of the completion of
infrastructure components, wave breakers and fish berths in the main
fish unloading locations, in addition to other service projects.
The Ministry's Permanent Consulting and Training Center signed also
with the World Bank a training agreement for the cooperative
fisheries and Fishery Cooperative Union's branches at the cost of $
5000 thousand.
The agreement includes training of 280 fishermen from different
cooperative fisheries societies and the Union's branches on the
administrative, financial, technical and other aspects.
