Yemeni court prosecutes 22 Somalis over piracy charges
ADEN, July 01(Saba) - A primary court in Aden city began on
Wednesday trialing 22 Somalis on charge of involving in piracy acts
against ships crossing the Gulf of Aden's international waters.
During the inaugural hearing, prosecutors charged 11 Somalis with
hijacking ships and other 12 of trying to hijack ships.
The court ordered the prosecution to provide a translator for the
arrested, giving the defense counsel a chance to study the case
indictments.
The hearing was adjourned until 15 July for further consideration.
