Young Saudi Woman Organizes ‘Building Bridges’ Event in the US to Foster Social Connections

Washington, August 18, 2024, SPA -- A young Saudi woman residing in the US successfully organized a community event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, called “Building Bridges”, aimed to bring together residents from various backgrounds to create social connections that improve communication, spread love, and foster friendships.
The event featured miscellaneous artwork, cultural performances from different countries, and a “Unity March” across the Roberto Clemente Bridge in the city.
The initiative’s founder, Eng. Ibtihal bint Abdullah Badawi, said that she wanted to use art to make a positive impact on the community and promote the idea of unity among all nationalities. She pointed out that this is the second year the event has been held in Pittsburgh. The first edition, last year, received significant engagement, prompting local authorities to make it an annual event.
She added that this year’s turnout was impressive, and that “when we come together, we become stronger, and as we continue building bridges together, we will plant the seeds of love and acceptance among people. regardless of their race”.
Badawi noted further that the event intended to bring together people of different nationalities to build bridges of love and understanding.
She expressed hope that the “Building Bridges” day will become a global event adopted by the UN to promote communication among people or all races and backgrounds.
