RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN GIVES PRESS CONFERENCE
Baku, July 3 (AzerTAc). Russia`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin gave a press conference dedicated to the results of visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Azerbaijan.
Ambassador underlined that it was the third meeting between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia in 2009. The diplomat noted that such meetings promote the rapprochement of the relations even more.
There were made achievements in some issues, said Mr. Dorokhin. The first were joint statements of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia on Caspian Sea and basic principles of completion of border delimitation and distribution of water resources of Samur River. It was adopted proposal of Azerbaijan to construct Samur waterworks facility meeting the international standards.
The document signed on purchase and sale of Azerbaijan natural gas will allow Russian side to supply regions with gas by saving transportation and open new job places, Dorokhin said.
Ambassador emphasized that agreement signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and Kabardino-Balkaria opens opportunities to trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation of the regions. He noted that a regular meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place in Moscow, in the middle of July.
Mr. Dorokhin responded to questions from journalists.
