Planning Ministry, WB to announce Yemen educational report



SANA'A, July 03 (Saba)- The Ministry of Planning and International
Cooperation in cooperation and the World Bank (WB) will announce
results of the general report over "Current Situation of Education
in Yemen" on Sunday during a workshop.

Deputy Planning Minister Mutahar al-Abbasi made clear to Saba that
they will discuss, during the workshop, results of the report which
covered basic, secondary, technical and vocational education as well
as exchanging views with experts in order to come out with a unified
vision to raise the educational process in Yemen and to achieve the
millennium goals by 2015.

He noted that the report is considered as the first phase to prepare
for the National Strategy for Unified Comprehensive Education in
Yemen.

Al-Abbasi affirmed Yemen's lack of a joint and integral vision to
treat challenges and troubles facing education, making clear that
the report also discusses a number of core issues represented by
qualitative aspects of education, skills and knowledge gained by
students, and the overall pitfalls of education in the country.
