46 NEW SUBWAY STATIONS TO BE BUILT IN BAKU IN TEN YEARS

Baku, July 4 (AzerTAc). Under the action plan for development of Baku metro, the number of stations will be increased from 22 to 68 within the space of ten years, Baku metro chief Taghi Ahmadov.
French Sistra firm has won a tender for implementation of the action plan. This company will attract designers from South Korea and Czechia.
Within 14 years, Sistra will present its plan on where new 46 stations will be located.
Ahmadov noted construction of the Azadlyg Prospekti station is underway in the 8th mikrorayon. Construction in the Mikail Mushvig station has been sped up while the work in the 28 May-Jafar Jabbarly station is nearing the end.
Baku metro is set to purchase 15 new subway cars.
