More than 60,000 Saudis on King's Foreign Scholarships, says
Washington, July 05, SPA -- The Saudi Minister of Higher Education,
Dr. Khalid Al-Anqari has expressed his pleasure over the graduation
of the second batch comprising 1,072 Saudi graduates in U.S.
universities for the current academic year.
In a ceremony patronized by the Minister of Higher Education and
Saudi Ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir and organized by The Cultural
Department of the Saudi Embassy in Washington on Saturday on the
occasion of graduating the 2nd batch of the Program of Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques for Foreign Scholarship, Dr. Al-Anqari said that
the Program launched nearly four years ago includes foreign
scholarships for thousands of Saudi Students, who are assigned to
various advanced universities around the world.
He noted that there are more than 60,000 Saudi students on foreign
scholarships in 1430H.
In remarks during a meeting with Saudi students on the King's foreign
scholarships, the Saudi Minister of Higher Education noted that 150
Saudi students are studying at their own expenses, will also join the
program, adding that the files of other students studying at their
own expenses, have been bracketed as under- study cases in
preparation for their joining the Program.
In a speech delivered by Cultural Attache Dr. Mohammed Al-Isa, he
noted that the Minister of Higher Education and the Saudi Ambassador
laid during the graduation ceremony the foundation stone of the new
headquarters of the Cultural Department in Washington.
He disclosed that the Department's statistics indicate there are now
18,700 Saudis on the King's foreign scholarships program in U.S.
Universities including 4,200 female students.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Aramco, and a
number of Saudi universities took part in the 'Vocation Day'
organized by The Cultural Department in Washington on Saturday within
the framework of the graduation ceremony of the second batch of
Program of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Foreign
Scholarships.
