President condoles loss of lives in Uttarakhand accidents

Patil Saturday expressed grief over the death of at least 41
people in two road accidents in northern state of Uttarakhand
on Friday.

Patil, who is on a three-day visit to the hill state,
in her message, also wished speedy recovery to the injured in
the mishaps.

She requested Governor B L Joshi to convey her feelings
to the victims of the accidents.

In one of the worst mishap in recent years in the
state, 30 people, mostly 'kanwarias' (shiv devotees) were
killed, and 13 others injured when a bus fell into a gorge in
Uttarkashi district.
Also, 11 people were killed and 29 injured when
another bus fell into a gorge in Tehri district on Friday. PTI
