RELIGIOUS FIGURES MEET WITH PRESIDENT OF HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION MEHRIBAN ALIYEVA
Baku, July 6 (AzerTAc). Religious figures who are here to attend inauguration of the Teze Pir Mosque Complex visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation where they met with President of the Foundation, ISESCO and UNESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.
Religious leaders got acquainted with the items from national leader Heydar Aliyev`s personal archive, documents, photographs, books reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s activity.
President said the Foundation has worked for five years. She said it was Heydar Aliyev`s idea to establish such kind of foundation. According to her, since the very beginning, the Foundation set itself a goal of serving Azerbaijan. The Foundation implements projects in the fields of healthcare, youth, science and culture.
Mehriban Aliyev stressed the Foundation`s major task is to serve people who need help.
The President noted there has been always religious tolerance in Azerbaijan, adding Foundation places special emphasis on the projects protecting tolerance. According to Mehriban Aliyeva, mosques are being built in Azerbaijan at the Foundation`s initiative. The Foundation provides aid to the Orthodox and Catholic churches.
