HH Nasser bin Hamad congratulates HM King on Gulf Cup victory
Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Bahrain’s victory in the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, held in Kuwait, after defeating Oman.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser praised the national team’s achievement, highlighting it as a result of His Majesty’s support for sports and HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s focus on developing Bahraini football. He noted that the team’s success reflects the effectiveness of strategies led by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the General Sports Authority, in advancing Bahraini football.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser commended the players for their discipline, determination, and strong performances throughout the tournament, culminating in the team’s second Gulf Cup title. He also praised the efforts of the Bahrain Football Association, led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the technical and administrative staff for their contributions to this success.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of Bahraini fans, whose presence and enthusiasm provided a significant boost to the team, including those who travelled to Kuwait to cheer for the players.
In response, His Majesty sent a cable of thanks to His Highness Shaikh Nasser. His Majesty expressed pride in the national team’s historic achievement, commending their outstanding performance, which secured Bahrain’s second Gulf Cup title. His Majesty noted that the victory reflects the progress of Bahraini football and praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser in advancing the Kingdom’s sports sector, resulting in many notable accomplishments.
