EVENT TO MARK CoE`s 60TH ANNIVERSARY HELD IN BAKU
Baku, July 8 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Council of Europe Office in Baku co-organized Wednesday an event to mark the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
Opening the event entitled “Azerbaijan-Council of Europe cultural cooperation: opportunities and prospects”, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev briefed the participants on the projects carried out by Azerbaijan and CoE in cooperation.
He praised the level of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Organization.
Garayev underlined his country attaches much importance to cooperation with CoE.
He highly valued the fact that CoE Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage Robert Palmer “is attending the event”.
Special representative of the CoE Secretary General in Azerbaijan Veronika Kotek said Baku`s hosting numerous events on inter-cultural and inter-civilization dialogues demonstrates the Azerbaijani leadership`s care for culture.
Robert Palmer, in turn, said Azerbaijan was a signatory to and active participant in the Council of Europe`s main conventions.
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Sevda Mammadaliyeva told of the ongoing cultural projects in her country.
The event participants also discussed the cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe.
