PERMANENT SECRETARIAT OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OF TURKIC-SPEAKING STATES TO FUNCTION IN BAKU

Baku, 9 July (AzerTAc). Permanent Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries will function in Baku, Safa Mirzayev, Head of the Parliament’s Office told a news conference. At his words, it was reached at the conference of speakers of parliaments of the Turkic-Speaking Countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, last year in Istanbul. Current year, the summit of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking States (TURKPA) will be held in Baku.
Meeting of the heads of parliament offices of the abovementioned states held in Baku last month proposed that the Permanent Secretariat will be functioning in the capital of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijani leadership gave its consent.
TURKPA will hold its first meeting in September current year and adopt its By-Laws, Safa Mirzayev said.
