AZERI OMBUDSWOMAN MEETS CoE EXPERTS
Baku, 9 July (AzerTAc). Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova met with experts of the Council of Europe`s Directorate of Strategic Planning Jose Cremades and David Cupina.
Suleymanova said her country has ratified the European Convention on Human Rights and successfully fulfills the Council of Europe commitments to ensure human rights.
The fact that Office of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) was established in Azerbaijan is one of the country`s commitments towards the Council of Europe, she underlined.
She also added there is fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan Ombudsman Office and CoE.
For his part, David Cupina praised the cooperation between Azerbaijan and CoE as well as the Office`s work to protect human rights.
He also underscored the necessity of intensification of bilateral cooperation.
