Sustainable Development Minister receives UN Assistant Secretary General

Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), received Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and his accompanying delegation during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting discussed several topics related to sustainable development. The minister emphasised Bahrain’s strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, reflected in how national plans and strategies are integrated with the SDGs. She also highlighted key national efforts in areas such as investment in human capital, skills development, and digital transformation. 

The minister commended international partnerships with UN agencies for their role in supporting national sustainable development efforts.

On his part, Dr. Al Dardari commended Bahrain’s progress in advancing the SDGs and the country’s innovative national initiatives. He emphasised the UNDP’s commitment to further developing cooperation with Bahrain in support of shared development goals.
