Legal Minister meets ILO Director-General

Manama, Apr. 29 (BNA): Yousef bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, met with Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting discussed means to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the ILO, particularly in leveraging the organisation’s expertise through its technical assistance programmes offered to member states.

Discussions focused on key areas including occupational safety and health, promoting social dialogue among the three production parties, improving working environments, and enhancing productivity. 

These efforts are intended to support the ongoing development of Bahrain’s labour market in line with international labour standards.
