NPRA Undersecretary receives UK Home Office official

Manama, Apr. 30 (BNA): Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, received Tonya Bentlan, the Regional Director for the Middle East of Home Office International Operations in the United Kingdom.

Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman highlighted the importance of the visit in strengthening security cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and the UK, noting its key role in supporting joint security efforts.

He underscored that the comprehensive development and modernisation strategy led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, has contributed significantly to achieving notable progress, both in developing human resources and in enhancing the quality and efficiency of services provided.

The meeting also reviewed areas of cooperation, particularly in facilitating travel procedures and identity verification. Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman emphasised the importance of benefiting from the United Kingdom’s advanced experience in these areas and enhancing the exchange of expertise in combating organised and cross-border crime, forgery, and human trafficking.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Doseri, Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up.
