Shura Council concludes participation in South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum in Rabat

Rabat, Apr. 30 (BNA): The Shura Council delegation, led by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Council, concluded its participation in the third edition of the South - South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum, held in Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The forum was organised by the Moroccan House of Councillors in cooperation with the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA).
Heads and representatives of Arab and African parliaments discussed ways to boost cooperation and integration among Global South countries to support peace, security, and sustainable development.
The forum concluded with the issuance of the Rabat Declaration, which emphasised the importance of strengthening logistical connectivity, economic openness, and regional integration among Southern countries.
Participants commended successful regional initiatives across Africa, the Arab world, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia aimed at promoting shared development and boosting investment opportunities.
They also underscored the need to support bilateral and inter-regional parliamentary dialogues, respect state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and enhance the role of parliamentary unions and national parliaments in keeping pace with technological developments, drafting legislation that fosters development and entrepreneurship, and promoting innovation in artificial intelligence.
The Rabat Declaration also underscored the importance of the Palestinian cause and supported efforts to build a unified parliamentary stance on issues affecting the Global South.
