Industry Minister leads Bahrain delegation to GCC trade, industry committee meetings in Kuwait

Kuwait, Apr. 30 (BNA): Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, led Bahrain’s delegation to the 68th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade Cooperation Committee and the 54th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the GCC, held in Kuwait. The meetings were attended by Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.

The committees discussed updates on free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and global economic blocs, initiatives to support Gulf entrepreneurs and enhance their presence in regional and international markets, and reviewed unified Gulf projects and legislation. Discussions also covered updates on standards for defining GCC national products, proposed policies to support and protect Gulf industries, and initiatives to boost the competitiveness of the industrial sector, including mechanisms to encourage advanced and sustainable manufacturing.

Minister Fakhro also participated in the periodic consultative meeting between GCC trade and industry ministers and the heads of chambers of commerce, as well as the fifth consultative meeting with leading Gulf entrepreneurs. He also attended a ceremony honouring Gulf inventors held on the sidelines of the meetings.
