Shura Council Chairman commends HM King’s support for Bahrain’s press on World Press Freedom Day

Manama, May. 2 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, emphasised the advancement of Bahrain’s media sector, attributing its achievements to the support and vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Marking World Press Freedom Day, which is observed annually on May 3rd, Al Saleh noted that the advancement of Bahraini journalism reflects the Kingdom’s recognition of the essential role of free and responsible media in national development.
The Chairman commended HM the King’s commitment to enabling an open media environment that values transparency and encourages the free exchange of ideas.
Al Saleh also acknowledged the government's role, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in strengthening media engagement and empowering professionals to contribute meaningfully to Bahrain’s democratic and developmental progress.
He highlighted the dedication of Bahrain’s press and media professionals to their public service mission and their contribution to raising awareness, encouraging informed dialogue, and promoting the Kingdom’s achievements.
Al Saleh expressed his appreciation for the enduring support provided to media institutions, which continues to foster a thriving and independent media landscape in Bahrain.
