Malaysia Organises Cultural Performance At Entertainment Event In Mumbai
NEW DELHI, May 3 (Bernama) -- A Malaysian cultural troupe gave a mesmerising performance on Friday evening at an international entertainment media event in India's Mumbai city.
The group of 18 performers comprised Malaysian students from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) who are pursuing medical studies at KLE University in Belgaum, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
Friday's performance at the Phoenix Palladium shopping mall will be followed by one at the Jio World Convention Centre on Saturday.
The showcase of Malay traditional performing arts led by Muhammad Husnul Hakimi Idris was held in collaboration between the Malaysian Consulate General in Mumbai and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) of India, Consul General Ahmad Zuwairi Yusoff told Bernama.
It has been organised in conjunction with the four-day World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
"This cultural exchange between Malaysia and India would foster closer bilateral cooperation and friendship, particularly in the field of culture and arts. Malaysia's participation in the WAVES cultural show was also part of the efforts to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2026 as well," Ahmad said.
