Malaysia, Bahrain to Explore MSME, Entrepreneurship Collaboration - Minister Ewon

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Bahrain are open to exploring strategic cooperation in entrepreneurship and the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Ewon Benedick.

He said this was discussed during a meeting with Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain Economic Development Board, Noor Ali Alkhulaif, and the country’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla Adel Fakhro, who were on an official visit with their delegation on Tuesday.

The meeting also touched on joint initiatives to strengthen the MSME sector, particularly in high-impact and high-growth potential industries, as well as efforts to promote Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices among entrepreneurs.

“This meeting reflects our shared commitment to enhancing ties between Malaysia and Bahrain in entrepreneurship and MSME development, in line with regional sustainable economic goals,” Ewon said in a statement.

The Malaysian delegation included the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) secretary-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud, deputy secretary-general (Entrepreneur Development) Zamri Salleh, and deputy secretary-general (Policy and Monitoring) Noor Afifah Abdul Razak.
