Capital Governor receives Hangzhou Deputy Mayor

Manama, May 18 (BNA): Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, received Chen Weiqiang, Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou in the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting explored opportunities for cooperation and means to strengthen it.
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman emphasised the Capital Governorate’s commitment to strengthening ties with major global cities and developing cultural, economic, and development-based engagement. He highlighted the Governorate’s vision to expand its international partnerships and exchange expertise to support sustainable development. He also commended the continuous growth in relations between Bahrain and China.
The delegation was briefed on leading projects and initiatives adopted by the Capital Governorate, aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens and residents in line with its vision of ensuring a better life and sustainable development.
The visit forms part of the friendly cooperation signed in 2018 between the Capital Governorate and the city of Hangzhou, which aims to develop partnerships in various public service sectors and enhance cooperation in technology, training, and exchange visits.
Deputy Mayor Weiqiang commended Bahrain’s urban development efforts and underscored China’s interest in further strengthening cooperation with the Capital Governorate.
