Public Prosecution visit Eurojust headquarters in The Hague

The Hague, May 18 (BNA):  A delegation from the Public Prosecution in the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Al Zubari, participated in a programme organised by the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust).

The visit included delegations from the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and several representatives of public prosecution authorities from GCC member states.

The visit follows the joint workshop held between the GCC General Secretariat and Eurojust in Riyadh last February, aimed at strengthening coordination and cooperation in combating transnational crime and exchanging expertise between GCC countries and specialised European judicial organisations.

The programme featured a series of lectures and specialised discussion sessions covering key topics in criminal judicial cooperation.  These included a comprehensive overview of Eurojust’s structure and its partnerships with non-EU countries, as well as the agency’s role in facilitating cross-border justice.  Sessions also reviewed the experiences of Eurojust's on-duty prosecutors and coordination mechanisms with international partners in tackling crimes such as money laundering and cybercrime.

The participation reflects the Public Prosecution’s commitment to developing its members’ skills, adopting international best practices, and strengthening cooperation with regional and global institutions in combating crime and enhancing justice.
