HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attends the inauguration of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV

Vatican, May 18 (BNA): On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), attended the inauguration of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost), at St Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

His Highness extended the congratulations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on his inauguration. His Highness also conveyed their best wishes for His Holiness’s success in continuing the Vatican’s humanitarian mission to promote coexistence and cooperation for the betterment of all.

His Highness affirmed the strength of the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Vatican across various fields, as well as their joint efforts to promote the values of coexistence, compassion, and peace.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to further enhancing its cooperation with the Vatican to support humanitarian causes and promote shared values.

His Highness also reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to fostering understanding between cultures and religions. In this regard, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman emphasised Bahrain’s continued support for global initiatives that advocate peace and mutual understanding.

His Highness stated that these efforts reflect the vision of His Majesty the King and the steps taken by the government, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to position the Kingdom as a global forum for dialogue.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by a number of other heads of state and international figures.
