Bahrain welcomes EU’s decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria

Manama, May 20 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the European Union’s decision to lift economic sanctions on the Syrian Arab Republic, considering it a positive step towards building a modern Syrian state and fulfilling the aspirations of its people for stability and prosperity.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised the Kingdom’s full support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, security, and independence. The Kingdom expressed support for efforts aimed at recovery, reconstruction, the consolidation of peace, sustainable development, and the restoration of Syria’s active role at the Arab, regional, and international levels.
