AZERI STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN FINAL ROUND OF HP GLOBAL BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Baku, July 10 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani students of State Oil Academy and School № 95 will participate in the final round of 14Th annual HP Global Business Challenge (HPGBC).
The international competition is organized by Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide every year within the program “Teaching of Economy in Schools”.
The HPGBC contest is sponsored by StatoilHydro Azerbaijan, Agency of International Development (USAID), Chevron Caspian, Baker McKenzie, US Chember of Commerce and Bakcell.
300 teams from different countries attended the contest. As the result of the 2 rounds 8 teams from Azerbaijan, China, Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan will participate in the final round of HPGBC on August 16-20 in San-Paulo (Brazil).
Azerbaijani students-participants of Junior Achievement programs have been participating in the HPGBC contest since 2005. They took 8th in 2005, 3rd in 2006, 1st in 2007 and 6th place in 2008.
The international competition invites student teams to make a series of budgeting decisions affecting a hypothetical business during a two and one-half year period, including capital investment, research and development, pricing structure, marketing and production level.
The HP Global Business Challenge also gives students a unique opportunity to meet their counterparts from around the globe, and helps prepare them to work in the global economy.
