Deputy Prime Minister receives Indian parliamentary delegation

Manama, May 25 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, received members of the Parliament of India, led by MP Baijayant Panda.
Ghanem bin Fadhl Al Buainain, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, was present.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the historical ties between Bahrain and India, founded on mutual respect and understanding, and emphasised the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the shared interests of both countries and their peoples across various sectors.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah commended the Indian community’s active role in supporting Bahrain’s development, noting their recognised contributions across sectors. He also highlighted the appreciation this community enjoys as a reflection of Bahrain’s values of tolerance, coexistence, openness, and respect for cultural and religious diversity.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah underscored Bahrain’s stance on regional and international issues, emphasising the Kingdom’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and diplomacy as a civilised means to resolve conflicts, and its rejection of all forms of violence. He noted the importance of maintaining security and stability as essential pillars for sustainable development.
On his part, MP Panda underscored India’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation and wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
