Work to Prevent Damage by Harmful Insects Conducts in DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Farms across the DPRK are conducting the work to prevent the damage by caterpillars to wheat, barley and maize fields as they travel some areas on the air current.
The farms in Tokchon City and Mundok County of South Phyongan Province made places for killing the insect in wheat, barley and maize fields and are taking such necessary measures as securing insecticides. Sukchon County informs farmers of the origin of caterpillar outbreak and the method of extermination so that all of them take part in the campaign to prevent damage.
Hwangju County of North Hwanghae Province directs efforts to preventing the occurrence of larvae by cutting dry leaves and weeding the fields of wheat, barley and maize.
Onchon County in Nampho Municipality is spraying agricultural chemicals and clearing the space for the survival of imagoes.
Officials and working people in the agricultural sector in Munchon City and Anbyon County of Kangwon Province are observing harmful insects in a responsible manner by dint of science and technology. -0-
