BACA participates in GCC meeting on antiquities, museums in Kuwait

Kuwait, June 2 (BNA): Dr. Salman Ahmed Al Mahari, Director General of Antiquities at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), participated in the 23rd Meeting of Undersecretaries Responsible for Antiquities and Museums in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Kuwait.
The meeting addressed several key topics related to joint cultural efforts, including the 2025 – 2030 Work Plan of the Committee on Antiquities and Museums, the annual schedule of events and activities in the field, the periodic joint archaeological exhibition, combating the illicit trafficking of cultural property, and enhancing international cooperation in these areas.
On the sidelines of the meeting, several specialists and researchers in the antiquities and museums sectors from GCC countries were honoured, along with the recognition of private museums.
From the Kingdom of Bahrain, Maha Sulaibeekh, Museum Guidance Specialist, and Abbas Al Aradi, Researcher in Antiquities and Heritage at BACA, were honoured in recognition of their contributions to the fields of museums and antiquities.
