Foreign Ministry Undersecretary attends 164th GCC Ministerial Council session

Kuwait, June 2 (BNA): Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the 164th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council held in the State of Kuwait.

 

The session was chaired by Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, with the participation of GCC foreign ministers and Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.

 

The council discussed items on its agenda, including following up on the implementation of previous decisions and recommendations from ministerial committees and specialised councils.

 

They also reviewed progress on free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and international partners, as well as joint ministerial meetings with friendly countries.

 

The council discussed regional developments, as well as efforts to end the war in Gaza, protect civilians, release hostages and detainees, deliver humanitarian aid, and support the two-state solution and a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

 

The session was attended by Salah Ali Al Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Kuwait, and Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, Chief of the Legal Affairs Sector and Acting Chief of the GCC Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
