Yemeni-French cultural cooperation discussed
ADEN, July 12 (Saba)- Aden governor Adnan al-Jefri held talks on Sunday with the
cultural heritage advisor in the French embassy in Yemen Marline Barite on
cooperation issues of cultural heritage between the two countries.
They discussed means to repair one of the historical buildings in Crater area in
Aden to be a center for the cultural heritage of Aden city.
Barite presented a summary on cooperation between the French embassy and Aden
governorate that came out with the singed agreements on establishing such projects
in Aden and Taiz.
She called on local authorities to renovate the old buildings, indicating that the
project would contribute to preparing a map to define the historical marks of Aden.
She made reference that the five-year agreement has been singed between Louvre
Museum and Yemen on developing the heritage ships of Yemen.
For his part, al-Jeffri expressed his thanks for France interest in the Yemeni
cultural heritage, affirming the importance of establishing a heritage center in
Aden.
