Measures for Preventing Damage from Heavy Rain and Flood in DPRK

 Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- Measures are taken for preventing the damage from heavy rain and flood at the housing construction site in the Komdok area of the DPRK.
The General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry and the construction command team worked out the plans for continuously pushing forward with the projects in the rainy season, have completed to build retaining walls of at least 50 000 square meters, dredge over 100 000 cubic meters of riverbeds and reinforce over 150 000 cubic meters of embankments, and repaired railways and roads and removed defective places.
The builders of the Komdok Mining Complex, the Taehung Youth Hero Mine, the Ryongyang Mine and the Ryongchon Mine built retaining walls between Taehung-dong No. 1 and Ryongchon-dong.
All the construction units have lunched the work for ensuring the safety of roads and removing defective sections of railways.
They spread gravels on the road between Tongam-dong and Muhak-dong and packed them and installed water pipes and culverts as required by the technical regulations.
And they built retaining walls and dug ditches in the dangerous places between Paekgumsan Railway Station and Taehung Railway Station and sent lots of railway fixtures and metals to a relevant unit.
Lorry divers transported thousands of cubic meters of freights every day and the residents in the Komdok area turned out in a campaign for improving rivers and repairing roads. -0-
