National Sci-Tech Presentation and Seminar Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- A national sci-tech presentation and seminar in the fishing sector took place at the Sci-Tech Complex on July 15 and 16 under the sponsorship of the Korean Fishery Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
Present there were officials, scientists, technicians, teachers and postgraduate students of more than 10 units including the West Sea Offshore Farming Institute of the Academy of Fishery Science, Wonsan University of Fisheries and the Ongjin Offshore Farm.
The presentation heard dozens of papers dealing with the successes made in the course of locally producing raw and other materials necessary for aquaculture, recycling them and putting the management of fish culture grounds on an IT and scientific basis.
The seminar discussed practical issues arising in raising productivity, survival rate and growth rate by applying phytosin to cultivating sea-weed seedlings and artificially breeding of sea animals.
Appreciated at the seminar were the proposals which are of significance in putting offshore farming on a scientific basis.
During the period, there was a technical lecture on the application of phytosin in the aquaculture field. -0-
