Saudi Math Team Wins Six International Awards at 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad

Riyadh, July 21, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi national mathematics team arrived in Riyadh today after winning six international awards at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), held in Sunshine Coast, Australia, from July 10 to 20, with the participation of 630 students representing 110 countries.
The Saudi team earned three bronze medals and three certificates of appreciation, marking another milestone in the Kingdom’s participation in global scientific competitions. The achievement came under the supervision of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education.
Since joining the IMO in 2004, Saudi Arabia has accumulated a total of 12 silver medals, 48 bronze medals, and 22 certificates of appreciation.
The IMO is one of the most prestigious global scientific contests for high school students. It was first held in Romania in 1959 with seven participating countries, and the number of participating nations in the current edition exceeded 120.
