Rahat's Dates Market Showcases Rich Agricultural Heritage, Attracts Thousands

Makkah, July 30, 2025, SPA -- The annual dates market, organized by the Secretariat of the Holy Makkah Municipality and Madrakah Municipality, opened yesterday at Rahat public park and runs until August 6, 2025. Coinciding with the date harvest season, the event has attracted many visitors, farmers, and local product enthusiasts.
Set in a heritage atmosphere, the market promotes local palm produce from Rahat and nearby areas, enabling direct sales from farmers to consumers. This initiative boosts economic activity and supports regional agriculture.
Rahat, a key agricultural oasis in Al-Jumum Governorate in Makkah Region, has over one million palm trees, producing thousands of tons of high-quality dates.
The event underscores the community's connection to palm cultivation and aims to preserve agricultural heritage by teaching younger generations about farming and palm care.
