NAO participates in 26th meeting of GCC audit undersecrataries

Manama, July 30 (BNA):  Faiq Ali Dhaif, Undersecretary for Financial Audit at the National Audit Office (NAO), participated in the 26th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council audit institutions undersecretaries.

The meeting, held remotely, addressed topics on its agenda, discussing the recommendations and outcomes of the Strategic Training Plan for the period 2023 - 2025, and the draft Strategic Training Plan for 2026 - 2028, which was prepared by NAO.

Discussions also covered the results of the sixth edition of the GCC competition for audit and accounting research and studies.  Approval was given to submit these results to the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions for endorsement, in preparation for honouring the winners.

The meeting also reviewed the proposal from the audit rules working group regarding the impact measurement form for applying the guidelines issued by the GCC General Secretariat.  They also considered the working group's proposal to change its name to the "Technical Committee of Audit and Accounting Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States".

The meeting also reviewed the General Secretariat's report regarding training programmes implemented during 2024 - 2025, a memorandum of understanding between the King Fahad National Library and the GCC General Secretariat, and the draft agenda for the 22nd meeting of the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions in the GCC States.
