Local Grapes Fill Markets as Peak Summer Season Begins

Riyadh, August 02, 2025, SPA -- August marks the peak season for many of Saudi Arabia’s local summer fruits, with grapes in particular seeing high demand as the Kingdom produces over 122,300 tons annually.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture credits the significant development of the grape sector to government support and the adoption of modern agricultural practices. The ministry noted that many regions are known for grape cultivation, including Tabuk, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf, Madinah, Aseer, and Taif Governorate.
The variety of local grapes supports processing industries such as juice and confectionery production, while also contributing to food security and the national economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
